What this machine is for
EWM Phoenix 521 is a MIG/MAG power source with the M3.19 Expert panel. The machine suits heavy industry and bridge structures, precision sheet metal work and the hard facing and reconditioning of working machine parts.
The panel is synergic and you run it with one knob. You choose the material, the gas and the wire diameter, and the controller sets the voltage and the inductance of the electronic choke. You run wires of 0.8, 0.9, 1.0, 1.2 and 1.6 mm and these materials: SG2 and SG3 steel, CrNi acid resistant steel, CuSi and CuAl wires, AlMg, AlSi and Al99 aluminium. The gas list covers CO2, Ar/CO2 and Ar/O2 mixes, pure argon, Ar/He and mixes with hydrogen.
The forceArc process narrows the arc and deepens penetration, so on plate over 10 mm you bring the bevel angle down to 30 to 40 degrees instead of 60. The superPuls process mixes spray transfer with short circuit transfer in one cycle, which helps on thin aluminium in the vertical position. The MSG-Löten mode is for braze welding galvanised sheet at a temperature of the order of 900 to 1000 degrees. On top of that you have TIG Lift, MMA, gouging, hard facing and a JOB program memory with the SP1, SP2 and SP3 slots.
What to watch out for
Supply 400 V, liquid cooling according to the product card, so check the state of the cooler and of the fluid before you start it up. The card does not give the duty cycle or the mains fuse, and at a current of this order the connection is worth checking before installation. The card does not list a torch or cables either, ask about the accessories before you buy. Condition B means traces of use and full working order. The condition letter says nothing about the load capacity or about the duty cycle.
How we sell used machines
This unit was checked in our service workshop in Krotoszyn with measurements to PN-EN 60974-4 and a load test. The price includes the first year of the basic service package, further years can be added. We ship across the European Union, collection in person by appointment.
