What this machine is for
Selco Genesis 502 GSM is an inverter MIG/MAG power source with a TIG module and pulse. You set the current from 6 to 500 A, the arc voltage sits between 15 and 39 V. The machine suits heavy industry, shipyards and plants that make large steel and aluminium structures and weld for long spells at a high current.
The GSM system, described by the maker as Green at Wave, tidies the arc and limits spatter with wires of larger diameters. MIG/MAG pulse control and stepless inductance adjustment give you control over the heat input, which counts with high alloy steels and aluminium. The TIG module has non contact HF ignition, full pulse, 2 stroke and 4 stroke modes and adjustment of the gas post flow time and the current slope up. The wire feeder has 4 rolls and runs the wire evenly also with torches 5 m long.
What you get
- Selco Genesis 502 GSM power source
- welding torch 4 m
- copper earth cable 5 m
What to watch out for
Supply is 400 V, fuse 30 A, check the connection before installation. The duty cycle is 500 A at 60% and 400 A at 100%. The product page gives liquid cooling, check the state of the radiator and the fluid before start up. The page also gives the brand Böhler Welding, confirm the configuration before you buy. Condition B means traces of use and full working order. The condition letter says nothing about load capacity or the duty cycle.
