Key facts on the Paton StandardMIG-350 400V MIG/MAG welder
The digital inverter welder PATON™ StandardMIG 350 400V is made for semi-automatic arc welding in the MIG/MAG process, gas shielded arc welding in the TIG process and manual arc welding with a covered electrode in MMA, with direct current (DC).
Machines in the "Standard" series are meant for home and light industrial work. The PATON StandardMIG 350 holds a 55% duty cycle at its full rated current of 350A without losing output or weld quality. It is worth adding that the welder reaches a 100% duty cycle at a current of 260A. A solid build and simple operation keep the work free of trouble, and easy settings give very good weld quality. The fully electronic control used in this series avoids the weak points typical of multi-process machines. The power source is preset to sensible values, so work can start straight away even for a beginner. For more demanding jobs the machine carries extra functions. What sets the PATON™ Standard series semi-automatic welders apart is the high quality wire feeder with additional sealing, together with the KZ-2 integrated connector of the "EURO" type, which has become a standard worldwide and lets you pick any MIG/MAG torch you like.
GASLESS WELDING FUNCTION, WELDING WITH SELF SHIELDED WIRE
Every PATON MIG/MAG welder is prepared for self shielded wire. Unlike the usual MIG/MAG process, this kind of welding runs without shielding gas, but it does need a special welding wire. Such wire builds its own shield, which helps protect the arc. Self shielded wire matched to PATON welders can be bought here, and the 5 kilogram spools fit every wire feeder.
BRAZE WELDING, INDUCTANCE CONTROL
Paton MIG/MAG welders of the Standard and PRO series can braze weld thanks to a three step inductance setting. Inductance control lets you tune the arc characteristic to the thickness of the part being welded. The function is needed to change the speed of current flow when the arc voltage changes. The thinner the part to be welded with MIG/MAG, the higher the inductance should be (soft arc, shallower penetration), and the other way round for thick parts (hard arc, deeper penetration).
PULSE FUNCTION in every process
- PULSE in the TIG process, full control of the heat put into the material, a very good function for welding stainless and acid resistant steel,
- PULSE in the MMA process, easier transfer of material from the electrode into the weld pool, better quality of the welded joint,
- PULSE in the MIG/MAG process easier detachment of the metal droplet from the end of the electrode wire, with adjustable pulsed current parameters. MIG welding with pulse suits stainless steels, acid resistant steels and aluminium alloys. Pulse also gives better results when braze welding CuSi3.
The machine has synergic control in pulse mode, which picks the welding parameters on its own and keeps the arc stable and the weld sound.
A NEW LEVEL OF QUALITY IN THE STANDARD SERIES
Unlike the other machines of the Standard series, the PATON StandardMIG 350 400V welder holds a 55% duty cycle at its rated current of 350A. On top of that, the wire feeder built into the welder takes a large 15 kilogram wire spool and has four rolls, unlike the other machines of the STN series, which take only a spool up to 5 kilograms and have 2 wire feed rolls.
