Service package

The service package is an annual subscription that turns unforeseen breakdowns into a predictable cost. You pay a fixed amount, and in return you get an inspection of the machine, priority in the service queue, a replacement machine for the duration of a repair and a discount on parts and consumables. We run packages for companies that cannot afford a station standing idle for several days, and for anyone who buys a used machine from us.

The first year in the price, further years you buy

The price of every used machine bought at Spawlab includes the first year of the basic service package. You do not have to ask for it or pay anything extra, and it runs from the day the equipment is handed over. You buy further years separately, and then repairs come out cheaper, a periodic inspection is added, along with priority in the service queue and an inspection report for your records. We agree the scope and the price of an extended year to suit the machine and how much it actually works, because equipment in a garage is one thing and equipment running two shifts is another.

What it covers

Periodic inspection

Once a year, at our premises or at yours, depending on the variant. Cleaning the inside with compressed air, checking and tightening the power connections, checking cables, plugs and the torch, inspecting the cooling circuit and changing the coolant, a load test and electrical measurements to EN 60974-4. On the extended package you get an inspection report that stands up to an audit.

Priority response

Your job goes to the front of the queue. We take the machine in for diagnosis first, rather than in the order it arrived. When you call it in, we try to identify the fault straight away, because some problems can be cleared on the spot without shipping anything.

Replacement machine

If a repair takes longer than the agreed time, you get a replacement machine of similar rating so that the station does not stand idle. We arrange transport both ways.

Discount on parts and consumables

A standing discount on spare parts, on torch consumables and on Böhler Welding wires and rods. For a workshop getting through a dozen or so spools a month, that item alone can cover a good part of the package fee.

Who it is for

For production plants where a single station is the bottleneck. For installation companies working on contracts with penalties for delay. For workshops with several machines, where one subscription is easier to account for than separate invoices for every repair. And for companies that have to show an auditor current inspection reports for their welding equipment.

Variants

We scale the package to the number of machines and to whether the inspection is to take place at our premises or in your shop. The response scope, the period allowed before a replacement machine is provided and the level of discount are set out in the agreement. We quote a price after a short conversation in which we establish the number and type of machines, because two MMA inverters look quite different from five water-cooled MIG/MAG stations.

What the package does not cover

Repairs after mechanical damage, flooding, a mains surge or use contrary to the instructions are charged separately, after a quotation. Consumables that wear out in normal work are charged as well, though with the package discount. We say this plainly so that there is no misunderstanding at the first breakdown.

How to start

Call 669 162 833 from Monday to Friday between 8 and 16, or write and tell us what machines you have in your fleet and where they work. We will prepare a scope and a price, and the agreement can be signed remotely. With a used machine bought from us, the first year of the basic package is in the price, and you buy further years so that service cover does not stop after twelve months.
