Castolin Eutectic is a Swiss brand from Lausanne, in business since 1906, and from the start it has worked in maintenance: hardfacing, part repair and braze welding of dissimilar metals.
The range holds stick electrodes and wires for wear resistant layers, materials for joining cast iron, aluminium and copper, and equipment badged CastoTIG and CastoMag. This equipment mainly goes to maintenance departments.
Start the choice from the type of wear: abrasion, impact, corrosion or work at high temperature, because these decide the hardness and the composition of the layer. With cast iron check whether the part needs preheating, because skipping that step ends in a crack.
