About us

Spawlab is a workshop and a shop in one place, at ul. Akacjowa 15 in Krotoszyn. We repair welding machines, we sell new and used ones, and we run rental and buying. We ship within Poland and to every country in the European Union. That order is not an accident. The service centre came first and sales grew out of it, which is why we look at every machine through the eyes of a mechanic rather than a salesman.

What we do

  • Service for MIG/MAG, TIG and MMA welders and plasma cutters. Diagnostics, repair, inspections, and service packages for companies with a replacement machine.
  • Sales of used machines checked in our own service centre to current standards, with the first year of the basic service package in the price.
  • Sales of new machines: Spartus, Magnum and Ideal in this shop, premium equipment on a separate site.
  • Welding consumables, above all Böhler Welding wires and rods.
  • Rental by the day, the week and the month, and buying of machines both working and faulty.

Authorisations

We are the authorised premium distributor and service centre for Migatronic, GYS, Megmeet and Böhler Welding in Poland. In practice that means we have access to original parts, service documentation and training at the manufacturer, and a repair under the manufacturer warranty does not require sending the machine abroad.

New premium machines from these brands are handled at nowespawarki.pl. There you will find full configurations, water-cooled versions, feeders and accessories. Service and technical advice are handled from Krotoszyn, by the same team.

What we do with a used machine before it goes on sale

A used welder does not go straight from the truck to the photo studio here. It follows a fixed path.

1. Intake and inventory

We check the rating plate, the history, the set of accessories and the state of the casing. We write down what is missing. You see those gaps later in the description, we do not hide them.

2. Stripping and cleaning

We open the machine, blow out the metal dust and inspect the boards, the connectors, the fan and the current path. Dust and filings are the most common cause of later failures, so we always do this step.

3. Load test

The machine runs under load at a current close to its rating until it warms up to working temperature. That is when the faults show that a short run off load never reveals: voltage drops, the feeder cutting out, overheating from a failing fan. We measure current and voltage and check arc stability at several settings.

4. Replacement of worn parts

We replace whatever is reaching the end of its life: feed rollers, liners, the torch or parts of it, cables with damaged insulation, the coolant in the cooling circuit, filters. The list of replaced parts goes into the product listing.

5. Description and photographs

In the product listing we give the measurement results, the list of replacements and an assessment of condition. We take unretouched photos and we do not paint out scratches in software. You see the scuffs and the signs of work as they are, because this is used equipment and that is how it should look. You get an inspection report with the extended service package.

Finally we add the first year of the basic service package in the price of the machine. You buy further years separately, and then repairs come out cheaper and a periodic inspection is added.

Who we work for

  • Workshops and production plants that need a machine yesterday and cannot afford downtime. For them we have service packages and replacement equipment.
  • Installation and construction companies working in the field, for whom the weight of the machine and running off a generator are what count.
  • Sole traders and metalworkers who want equipment from the upper shelf for sensible money. Here a used machine that has been through our inspection usually wins.
  • Schools and training workshops, where equipment works in the hands of students and has to stand up to more than average.
  • Private customers welding in a garage, whom we advise exactly as we advise a company. The question is always the same: what are you welding, in what material and how thick.

How we work

Three rules that are easy to check.

We tell you what a machine cannot do. If your application calls for a different process or a higher duty cycle, we will say so before the purchase, even when it means selling a cheaper machine or no sale at all.

We do not hide condition. Missing items, scratches and signs of work are described in the product listing along with the result of the load test.

We answer the phone after the sale. Repairs and parts do not end with the first year of the service package. For the machines we sell we keep parts and we know how to repair them.

In numbers

We have been in business since [YEAR OF FOUNDING]. [NUMBER] machines pass through our workshop every year. The team is [NUMBER] people and the workshop covers [NUMBER] square metres.
