Who this machine is for

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse

mobile Dual Pulse technology and industrial capability powered from 230V

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse is a modern inverter MIG/MAG welder built for users who expect advanced welding functions, good weld quality and full mobility of work. Thanks to the single phase 230V supply the machine can work practically anywhere a standard mains socket is available, while it keeps parameters typical of much larger workshop and industrial units.

Maximum welding current MIG/TIG 250A and MMA 220A gives the power for daily workshop, assembly and service work. The compact build, the high output and the option to run large wire spools mean that SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse combines the mobility of a 230V machine with the comfort and the productivity of much larger MIG/MAG welders.

The machine supports MIG/MAG in manual, synergic, Pulse and Dual Pulse modes, and also TIG Lift and MMA. It suits classic welding of structural steel as well as more demanding work on stainless steel or aluminium, where arc energy control, limited distortion and a neat bead are what count.

MIG/MAG welding, more control, better weld quality

The main working area of the SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse is the advanced MIG/MAG process, designed for a steady arc, fast setup and repeatable results. The operator can work in manual mode, with full freedom of settings, or use the synergic programs, which set the parameters automatically for the material, the wire diameter and the shielding gas.

A key advantage of the machine is the ability to work in Pulse and Dual Pulse modes. Pulse technology gives precise control of the energy put into the material, which means a steadier arc, less spatter and better control of the weld pool. Dual Pulse additionally produces the characteristic stacked bead appearance known from TIG welding, while keeping the productivity of the MIG/MAG process. It works particularly well on aluminium and stainless steel, where limiting overheating and controlling distortion decide the final quality. Adjustment of the pulse parameters, of the pulse frequency and of the background current lets you match the behaviour of the machine to the material and to the technology requirements.

The machine offers advanced torch modes: 2T, 4T, S2T, S4T and SPOT. The classic 2T and 4T modes make it easier to match the work to short or long welds, while the extended S2T and S4T modes control the start and the end of the process. The operator can therefore manage arc ignition, start current, end parameters and weld fade out precisely.

SPOT mode makes repeatable spot welds and increases accuracy on parts that need control of the welding time. Inductance adjustment matches the arc character to the material and to the welding position, from a softer arc to a more dynamic and concentrated one. In practice this means better fusion control, less spatter and a more stable process.

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260DP also offers detailed control of the welding sequence. The operator can set parameters such as gas flow before and after welding, Soft Start, arc start and end parameters or Burn Back, which handles the correct end of wire feeding. The Slow Feed function gives a controlled start of the wire feed and improves ignition stability and working comfort.

Synergic programs

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse offers synergic programs for the most commonly used materials and applications. The machine works with mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium and self shielded cored wire, among others. Synergy lets the operator start faster and then correct the parameters according to personal experience and to the requirements of the particular joint. This is a combination of automatic settings with conscious control of the process.

Built-in 4-roll wire feeder

The machine has a built-in 4-roll wire feeder that keeps the wire running smoothly and steadily even with longer torches or more demanding welding wires. Stable feeding translates directly into weld quality, working comfort and a repeatable process.

The feeder has a practical window and internal lighting that make it easier to check the spool, the wire path and the roll settings. A place for spare rolls means the key accessories are always at hand.

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse also works with a Spool Gun torch, which clearly improves the comfort of working with soft aluminium wires.

Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse has high electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), which means stable work without interference in a demanding industrial environment. The machine was designed not to affect other machines and control systems, while staying immune to external interference. That gives certainty of reliable work around automation, robots and modern production installations.

PFC technology, stable work and better supply efficiency

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse has a PFC circuit (Power Factor Correction) that clearly improves the use of energy and the stability of the machine. Active power factor correction reduces energy losses, lowers the load on the mains and gives more stable welding parameters even with long extension leads or in places with a less stable supply. In practice PFC means:

  • greater immunity to voltage fluctuations,
  • a steadier plasma arc,
  • lower current draw from the mains,
  • better energy efficiency,
  • more comfortable work on site and with a generator.

This solution matters especially for mobile users, assembly crews and workshops working in difficult supply conditions, where the stability of the machine has a direct effect on the quality and the continuity of work.

20 memory channels, repeatability without losing time

The machine offers 20 memory channels for storing your own welding parameter settings. That is a real help with repeatable parts, different materials or fixed production tasks. The operator can save proven configurations and return to them quickly, without setting every parameter again. The effect is shorter preparation time, less risk of a mistake and higher repeatability of the process.

Comfortable operation and a clear LCD panel

The modern control panel with a clear LCD display gives quick access to the most important functions and parameters. The interface guides the user through the choice of process, material, wire diameter and additional settings, so operation stays intuitive despite the many functions of the machine.

During welding the screen shows the key working parameters, so the process can be watched as it runs and adjusted quickly to the needs of the particular job.

TIG Lift Pulse - advanced parameter control

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse is not limited to MIG/MAG welding. The TIG Lift mode allows precise TIG DC welding with contact arc ignition, without high frequency HF. This is a practical solution wherever more control over the process and a neat weld appearance count.

The XPro MIG series takes the possibilities of TIG Lift a step further. The machine has an advanced TIG Lift Pulse function with pulse operation and access to extended settings of the welding sequence, including adjustment of the pulse frequency and the pulse width. This allows even finer control of the welding arc, of the heat input and of the bead character, which users working with thinner material or demanding details will appreciate.

Besides standard TIG torches with a gas valve, SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse also works with TIG torches with a control in the handle and a EURO connector. The operator can control the welding process comfortably without taking a hand off the torch, which clearly improves comfort and ergonomics. In this option, besides the 2T and 4T modes, the machine also offers an 8T mode for an extended torch control cycle. This makes a multi step welding process easier to handle and removes the need to hold the torch trigger down all the time, which adds to operator comfort.

MMA Pulse and smart process control

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse offers an extended MMA Pulse process that gives even more control over the welding arc, a stable process and a better match of the welding character to the working conditions and to the preferences of the operator. The machine also has functions that support comfort and quality of work, such as: Hot Start - easier electrode ignition, Arc Force - arc stabilisation during welding, VRD - more safety through a lower open circuit voltage.

The XPro MIG series additionally offers two advanced MMA characteristics: constant current and constant power.

MMA Constant Current, a stable and predictable arc

In MMA Constant Current mode the machine holds the welding current steady regardless of changes in arc length or in working conditions. This gives high process stability, makes it easier to guide the electrode and produces repeatable weld quality. Automatic holding of the set current value reduces the need for constant correction by the operator, which improves comfort and makes the welding process easier to control.

MMA Constant Power, smart parameter matching

MMA Constant Power mode adjusts the output voltage and current dynamically to hold the welding power constant. The machine therefore adapts its behaviour automatically to changes in arc length and in process conditions. This increases welding stability, simplifies operation and makes it faster to match the settings to different materials and welding positions. The operator sets the required power and the machine optimises the remaining process parameters.

Compact build and mobility

SPARTUS XPro MIG 260 Dual Pulse was built for work wherever mobility, quick readiness and full freedom of movement count. Thanks to the 230V supply the machine suits a modern workshop as well as assembly, service and site work, and offers advanced welding practically anywhere. The compact build makes it easy to transport and to move the machine between work stations, while it keeps the functionality typical of much larger industrial MIG/MAG welders. The option to run large wire spools improves comfort, reduces how often the wire has to be changed and keeps output high even under heavy use.

The machine stands on stable feet as standard, which hold it firmly during welding. Wheels are also included in the set, and they can be fitted quickly to make the machine easier to move around the workshop or the work station.

Another advantage of the machine is the smart cooling control system (Fan Stop), which starts the fan only when it is needed. That means quieter work, less dirt drawn in and a longer life of the components.

Longer working reach, fewer limits

A well planned cable configuration3-metre welding torch, earth cable and mains cable gives real freedom of movement on large parts and reduces the need to move the machine often. The 3-metre gas hose with a quick coupling speeds up connection and makes the work station tidier, which translates into more efficient work.
