Union S 3 MoTiB is a low-alloy, high strength submerged arc (SAW) wire. It goes into mobile equipment, machine frames, cranes and weight saving components.
The wire is used on mechanised stations, on butt welds in plate and circumferential welds on tanks. Its copper coated surface improves current pick-up in the contact tip and smooth feeding.

Keep the hydrogen level low: dry consumables, a clean groove and preheating on heavier sections. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld. Keep an even flux layer over the arc, too thin a layer exposes the arc and too thick a one spoils the bead shape. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position.
