UTP ROBOTIC 554 is a seamless, gas-shielded metal-cored wire particularly suited to automated welding, with a very stable arc, low spatter and a small amount of slag.
The metal core combines the deposition rate of a cored wire with an almost slag-free bead, as you get from a solid wire. Its seamless construction limits moisture pick-up in the core, it runs well on robot and mechanised stations, and it is set up for automated welding. Previously sold as UTP AF ROBOTIC 554.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Fe 8
- AWS classification: 8555 MSG 3-GF-55-ST
- Shielding gas: M21
- Diameters: 1.6 / 2.4 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 55 HRC
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage. Keep the gas cover complete, without a full slag layer the pool is more sensitive to draughts.
