WEARcore 461 C-S is a submerged arc cored wire that deposits a ferritic martensitic steel with additions of cobalt, tungsten and vanadium, made to resist metal to metal wear, corrosion and thermal fatigue fire cracking.
Submerged arc welding gives a very high deposition rate on long, repeatable welds, and the wire resists corrosion and thermal fatigue on the surface. Previously sold as SK 461-CSA.

Remove the fatigued and hardened surface layer before you build up, a deposit laid on worn material will flake off. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld. Keep an even flux layer over the arc, too thin a layer exposes the arc and too thick a one spoils the bead shape. Expect a network of shrinkage cracks in hard overlays, on working deposits this is normal, but it must not reach into the parent material.
