WEARcore Co 12 is a gas shielded metal-cored wire for hardfacing in a cobalt alloy, with excellent resistance to metal to metal and abrasive wear under moderate impact.
The wire gives a high deposition rate and a wide, flat penetration profile with a stable spray arc. It is meant for building up working faces on farm tools, crusher parts, conveyors, ploughshares and mining machinery. Previously sold as SK STELKAY 12-G.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Co3
- AWS classification: 8555 MF 20-GF-50-CTZ
- Shielding gas: M13, I1
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 49 HRC
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
