WEARcore CrMo15-S is a submerged arc cored wire for joining and rebuilding mild and low-alloy steels, heat resistant steel and steel castings.
The wire is used on mechanised stations, on butt welds in plate and circumferential welds on tanks, and it works as a set with a matched flux that decides the mechanical properties of the weld. Previously sold as SK CrMo15-SA.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Fe1
- AWS classification: 8555 UP 1-GF-250
- Shielding: flux matched to the wire, no shielding gas
- Hardness of deposit: 220 HB Record SA
Remove the fatigued and hardened surface layer before you build up, a deposit laid on worn material will flake off. Watch the wire stick-out and the position of the head against the weld centre line, under a flux you cannot see the pool and a mistake shows only after the slag is chipped off. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld.
