WEARcore MnCr13 is a gas shielded, multi-purpose metal-cored wire used mainly for rebuilding and joining carbon steels and 14 percent manganese steels.
The metal core combines the deposition rate of a cored wire with an almost slag-free bead, as you get from a solid wire, and the wire also suits protective layers built up on steel. Previously sold as SK AP-G.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Fe9
- AWS classification: 8555 MF 7-GF-200-KP
- Shielding gas: M13
- Diameters: 3.2 / 4.0 / 5.0 / 6.0 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 190 HB
Lay the overlay in overlapping beads and watch the part temperature, an overheated component will distort and crack where the layers meet. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
