WEARcore Tool 58-S is a submerged arc cored wire made to give outstanding resistance to low stress abrasion with heavy impact and high compressive stresses.
The wire works as a set with a matched flux, which decides the mechanical properties of the weld, and submerged arc welding gives a very high deposition rate on long, repeatable welds. Previously sold as SK 258-SA.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Fe8
- AWS classification: 8555 UP 6-GF-55-GT
- Shielding: flux matched to the wire, no shielding gas
- Hardness of deposit: 57 HRC Record SA
Remove the fatigued and hardened surface layer before you build up, a deposit laid on worn material will flake off. Watch the wire stick-out and the position of the head against the weld centre line, under a flux you cannot see the pool and a mistake shows only after the slag is chipped off. Match the flux to this wire and check how dry it is, drying the flux decides the hydrogen level in the weld.
