WEARcore Tool NiCrCo is a gas-shielded cored wire in a nickel alloy for surfacing forging tools subjected to extremely high temperatures.
The wire leaves only silicate islands instead of a full slag layer, which shortens the cleaning time between passes, and its metal core gives a high deposition rate with an almost slag-free bead. Previously sold as SK U521-G.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Ni2
- AWS classification: 8555 MF 23-GF-200-TZ
- Diameters: 1.6 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 200 HB
Remove the fatigued and hardened surface layer before you build up, a deposit laid on worn material will flake off. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage. Lay the overlay in overlapping beads and watch the part temperature, an overheated component will distort and crack where the layers meet.
