WEARmig DUR 250 is a solid wire for wear resistant build-ups that machine well, with a weld metal hardness of about 250 HB, that is 23 HRC.
It is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas, by hand and on mechanised stations. The wire is used on repairs of farm tools, crusher parts, conveyors, ploughshares and mining machine components, and on rebuilding shafts, rollers, screws and blades.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 S Z Fe 1
- AWS classification: S Z Fe 1
- Shielding gas: M12, M13, M21
Remove the fatigued and hardened top layer before hardfacing, an overlay laid on worn material chips off. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Lay the overlay in overlapping beads and watch the temperature of the part, an overheated piece will distort and crack at the layer boundary. Previously sold as UTP A DUR 250.
