Avesta FCW-2D 308L/MVR is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
The rutile core gives a fast freezing pool, a well shaped face and slag that lifts easily. The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth, and the arc stays calm in constrained positions.

After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Joint preparation, that is the bevel angle and the root gap, matters as much as the parameters themselves.
