FOXcore 316L-MC is a high alloyed austenitic stainless metal-cored wire of the E 316L type, used under a mixed shielding gas down to minus 120 degrees C.
The wire joins grades such as 1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4409, 1.4429, 1.4432, 1.4435 and 1.4436, along with related materials. Its high deposition rate shortens the time needed to fill heavier grooves, and the deposit has an austenitic structure that resists corrosion.
- Classification EN ISO: 17633-A T 19 12 3 L M M12 2
- AWS classification: A5.22 / SFA-5.22 EC316L
- Shielding gas: M21
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (09988), CWB, CE
Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than you need to, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage.
