BÖHLER CN 23/12 PW-FD is a flux-cored wire with a rutile core. It suits welding stainless and acid-resistant steels, and typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth, and the rutile core keeps the arc soft in constrained positions. The wire is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
