BÖHLER SAS 2-FD is a flux-cored wire with a rutile core for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
The rutile core gives a fast freezing pool, a well shaped face and slag that lifts easily, and it makes constrained positions easier with a calm, soft arc.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Keep the interpass temperature low and the beads narrow, overheating austenitic steel promotes carbide precipitation.
