BÖHLER X 70-IG is a low-alloyed, high-strength solid wire. It suits welding quenched and tempered high-strength steels on mobile structures, machine frames, cranes and parts built for a lower own weight.
Typical parent materials are S620Q, S620QL, S690Q, S690QL and ASTM A 514. The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas.
- Classification EN ISO: 16834-A G 69 5 M21 Mn3Ni1CrMo
- AWS classification: A5.28 / SFA-5.28 ER110S-G
- Shielding gas: M21
- Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (05547), DB (42.132.77), ABS, BV, DNV, CE, LR (suppl. list)
Do not exceed the permitted interpass temperature, an overheated heat affected zone loses its toughness. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
