UTP A 384 is a copper alloy solid wire of the Cu 6560 type, CuSi3Mn1. It works on water systems, machine parts, plain bearings and hardfacing of bronze surfaces.
The wire runs under shielding gas, fed continuously from a semiautomatic torch, by hand and on mechanised stations. The deposit is copper based, and it goes on fittings, heat exchangers, bearing shells, slides and the repair of bronze parts.
- Classification EN ISO: 24373 S Cu 6560 (CuSi3Mn1)
- AWS classification: A5.7 ERCuSi-A
- Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Take care of the ventilation at the station, copper alloys give off fumes that need extraction. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
