UTP A 722 is a solid wire in a nickel alloy for corrosion resistant NiCrMo alloys of the C22 type. It works on boiler components, furnace parts, chemical installations and heat exchangers exposed to aggressive media.
The wire is fed continuously from the feeder and welded under shielding gas. It also suits cladding runs on steel and covers tanks and pipework made of nickel alloys.
- Classification EN ISO: 18274 S Ni 6022 (NiCr21Mo13Fe4W3)
- AWS classification: A5.14 ERNiCrMo-10
- Shielding gas: Z-ArHeHC-30/2/0.05
- Diameters: 0.5 / 1.14 mm
Degrease the joint before welding, because sulphur and lead residues left after machining cause hot cracking in nickel. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets wire feeding and leads to burnback. Match the feed rolls to the wire diameter and inspect the liner, wire slip shows up at once as an unstable arc. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
