UTP ROBOTIC 601 is a metal-cored wire for hardfacing surfaces exposed to abrasion. It is used on farm tools, crusher parts, conveyors, ploughshares and mining machinery.
The metal core combines the deposition rate of a cored wire with an almost slag-free bead, as you get from a solid wire. Its seamless construction limits moisture pick-up in the core and keeps the hydrogen level in the weld low.
- Classification EN ISO: T Fe 8
- AWS classification: MSG6-GF-60-GP
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Keep the gas cover complete, without a full slag layer the pool is more sensitive to draughts. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
