WEARcore Co 21 is a gas shielded metal-cored wire in a cobalt base alloy, for extrusion dies, hot working tools, turbine injectors, valve seats and ingot tong bits.
The wire leaves only silicate islands instead of a full slag layer, which shortens the cleaning time between passes. The deposit is cobalt based, and the wire is used to recondition valve seats. Previously sold as SK STELKAY 21-G.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Co1
- AWS classification: 8555 MF 20-GF-300-CTZ
- Shielding gas: M13, I1
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 / 2.4 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 32 HRC
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner wires are easier to control out of position.
