WEARcore Co 6 A is a gas shielded metal-cored wire in a cobalt base alloy, for valves and valve seats in motor vehicles, hot shear blades, extruder screws, clack valves and seats, dies and punches.
The wire gives a high deposition rate and a wide, flat penetration profile with a stable spray arc. The deposit is cobalt based. Previously sold as SK STELKAY 6A-G.
- Classification EN ISO: 14700 T Z Co2
- AWS classification: 8555 MF 20-GF-45-CTZ
- Shielding gas: M13, I1
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm
- Hardness of deposit: 43 HRC
Check how many layers you need to reach the target hardness, the first layer always mixes with the base material. Check the feed roll pressure, a metal-cored wire is easier to crush than a solid one. Set the parameters for spray arc, in the short arc range a metal-cored wire loses its deposition advantage. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner wires are easier to control out of position.
