3Dprint AM 304L is an austenitic stainless solid wire for WAAM additive manufacturing.
It suits hand work with a semiautomatic torch and mechanised stations, and it also serves in WAAM additive manufacturing. The deposit has an austenitic structure, and the wire is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

Keep the interpass temperature low and the beads narrow, overheating austenitic steel promotes carbide precipitation and distortion. Check the contact tip, a worn bore upsets the wire feed and causes burnback. Match the drive rolls to the wire diameter and check the liner, wire slip shows up at once in an unstable arc. Match the diameter to the thickness and the position, thinner wires are easier to control in constrained positions.
