Avesta FCW-2D 347/MVNb is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
The rutile core gives a fast freezing pool, a well shaped face and slag that lifts easily, and it keeps the arc calm in constrained positions. The wire also goes on pressure vessels, piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
- Classification EN ISO: T 19 9 Nb R M/C3
- AWS classification: E347T0-4 ; E347T0-1
Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture.
