Avesta FCW-2D P5 is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. Typical work covers tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
The rutile core makes constrained positions easier and gives a calm, soft arc, with a fast freezing pool, a well shaped face and slag that lifts easily. The wire is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time.
