Avesta FCW 309L-PW is a flux-cored wire with a rutile core for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.
The rutile core makes constrained positions easier and gives a calm, soft arc, and all welding positions are open to it. The wire also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces and for pressure vessels, piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
- Classification EN ISO: T 23 12 L P M/C1
- AWS classification: E309LT1-4 ; E309LT1-1
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture.
