Avesta P5 is a TIG rod for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It goes into tanks, process pipelines and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
The rod suits root runs, thin walls and welds that need a smooth face, and it also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces. TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean bead.

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the bead face. Keep the rod inside the gas shield even after you lift it from the pool, a cold oxidised end will contaminate the next drop. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Match the diameter to the plate thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
