BÖHLER A7 FD is a flux-cored wire with a rutile core. It suits welding stainless and acid-resistant steels and is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
Among the parent materials it covers 1.4550, 1.4541, 1.4552, 1.4301, X5CrNi18-10, 1.4312 and 1.4546. The deposition rate is high, which shows on long welds and on thicker walls.
- Classification EN ISO: T 18 8 Mn R M(C) 3
- AWS classification: E307T0-G
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm
Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
