BÖHLER CN 13/4-IG is a solid MIG/MAG wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It works on pressure vessels, process piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.
Typical parent materials are 1.4317, 1.4313, 1.4407 and 1.4414. The wire runs under shielding gas, fed continuously from a semiautomatic torch, on tanks, process plant, food and chemical equipment and structures in contact with water and steam.
- Classification EN ISO: G 13 4
- AWS classification: ER410NiMo (mod.)
- Diameters: 1.2 mm
Keep the interpass temperature low and the beads narrow, overheating austenitic steel promotes carbide precipitation and distortion. Watch the wire stick-out from the contact tip, too long a one lowers the arc voltage and worsens the fusion. Set the gas flow so the pool is covered over the whole length of the bead, and shield the station when you work in wind. Joint preparation, that is the bevel angle and the root gap, matters as much as the parameters themselves.
