Application

What BÖHLER CN 23/12 Mo-FD flux-cored wire is used for

BÖHLER CN 23/12 Mo-FD is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It works on pressure vessels, process piping and austenitic structures where corrosion resistance counts.

Parent materials include S255N, S355N and S500N. The high deposition rate shortens the filling of wider grooves, and the wire is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.

  • Classification EN ISO: T 23 12 2 L R M(C) 3
  • AWS classification: E309LMoT0-4 ; E309LMoT0-1
  • Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
