Application

What BÖHLER DMO-IG TIG rod is used for

BÖHLER DMO-IG is a low-alloy, creep resistant TIG rod. It is used on boilers, steam pipelines, refinery installations and parts working at elevated temperature.

Base materials include S235JR, S355JR, S235J0, S355J0, S450J0, S235J2 and S355J2. The deposit resists creep at elevated temperature.

  • Classification EN ISO: 21952-A W MoSi
  • AWS classification: A5.28 / SFA-5.28 ER70S-A1 (ER80S-G)
  • Shielding gas: I1
  • Diameters: 0.8 / 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.6 / 2.0 / 2.4 / 3.0 / 3.2 mm
  • Approvals: TÜV (00020), KTA 1408.1; (8066), DB (42.132.70), BV (UP), DNV, CRS, CE

Do not interrupt welding and do not let the joint drop below the interpass temperature before the fill is finished. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads.
