BÖHLER DMV 83-IG is a low-alloy, creep resistant TIG rod. It is used in boiler making, on pressure vessels and petrochemical installations.
The typical base material is 1.7715. The deposit resists creep at elevated temperature, the rod works in power plant on superheaters, headers and pressure pipework, and you feed the filler into the pool by hand.
- Classification EN ISO: 21952-A W MoVSi
- AWS classification: A5.28 / SFA-5.28 ER90S-G

- Diameters: 2.4 / 2.5 / 3.2 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (1093), CE
Watch the hydrogen level, dry consumables and a preheated groove are your basic protection against cold cracking. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones suit filling.
