Union I CrMo 2 V is a low-alloy, creep resistant TIG rod. It is used on boilers, steam pipelines, refinery installations and parts working at elevated temperature.
Base materials are 1.7703 and 13CrMoV9-10. The deposit resists creep at elevated temperature, and TIG gives you full control over the heat input and a clean, smooth weld.
- Classification EN ISO: 21952-A ZCrMoV2 1
- AWS classification: A5.28 / SFA-5.28 ER90S-G
- Shielding gas: I1
- Diameters: 2.4 mm
Plan the preheating and the post weld heat treatment to the WPS for the grade in hand, CrMo steels harden in the heat affected zone. Set the gas post-flow long enough for the pool and the electrode to cool under the shield. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Watch the hydrogen level, dry consumables and a preheated groove are your basic protection against cold cracking.
