BÖHLER CM 2-IG is a low-alloy, creep resistant TIG rod. It works in power plant, on superheaters, headers and pressure pipework in chromium molybdenum steels.
Base materials include 1.7380, 10CrMo9-10, 1.7276, 1.7281, 16CrMo9-3, 1.7383 and 11CrMo9-10. The deposit resists creep at elevated temperature.

Watch the hydrogen level, dry consumables and a preheated groove are your basic protection against cold cracking. Grind the tungsten tip along its axis and hold a short arc, otherwise the pool spreads. Protect the root when you weld from one side, an oxidised underside spoils the corrosion resistance. Match the diameter to the material thickness and the welding position, thinner rods are easier to control out of position.
