Application

What BÖHLER EAS 2 PW-FD flux-cored wire is used for

BÖHLER EAS 2 PW-FD is a rutile flux-cored wire. It suits welding stainless and acid-resistant steels and is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

It joins grades such as 1.4306, X2CrNi1, 1.4301, X5CrNi18-10, 1.4311, 1.4312 and 1.4541 together with their equivalents. The deposit keeps its toughness down to cryogenic temperatures, so the wire goes on tanks and plant for liquefied gases, and it resists intergranular corrosion.

  • Classification EN ISO: T 19 9 L P M(C) 1
  • AWS classification: E308LT1-4 ; E308LT1-1
  • Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 mm

Use brushes and discs kept only for stainless steel, carbon steel particles cause rust staining on the face. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
