BÖHLER SAS 2 PW-FD is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.
The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth, while the rutile core keeps the arc soft in constrained positions. The wire goes on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.
- Classification EN ISO: T 19 9 Nb P M(C) 1
- AWS classification: E347T1-4 ; E347T1-1
Keep the interpass temperature low and the beads narrow, overheating austenitic steel promotes carbide precipitation and distortion. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time.
