Application

What diamondspark 52 MC metal-cored wire is used for

diamondspark 52 MC is a seamless metal-cored wire for mild steel, with impact toughness down to minus 40 degrees C. It is used on steel structures, tanks, machine frames and workshop work on plain carbon steel.

Base materials include S235JR, S355JR, S235JO, S355JO, S450JO, S235J2 and S355J2. The seamless sheath protects the core against moisture even after long storage, the wire welds in all positions, and the impact toughness is confirmed down to minus 40 degrees C.

  • Classification EN ISO: 17632-A T46 4 M M21 1 H5 T46 5 M M20 1 H5
  • AWS classification: A5.18 / SFA-5.18 E70C-6M H4
  • Shielding gas: M21, M20
  • Diameters: 1.0 / 1.2 / 1.4 / 1.6 / 2.4 mm
  • Approvals: TÜV (11163), DB (42.052.26), ABS, BV, DNV, CWB, LR, CE

On heavier sections and in a cold workshop plan the preheating, so that the risk of cold cracking stays down.
