diamondspark S 960 HP is a seamless flux-cored wire for submerged arc welding, low alloyed and high strength, with a yield strength above 960 MPa and a low level of diffusible hydrogen, at most 4 ml per 100 g.
The wire works as a set with a matched flux, which decides the mechanical properties of the weld. Its seamless construction limits moisture pick-up in the core, and the deposition rate shows on long welds and heavier walls.
- Classification EN ISO: 26304-A, TZ3Ni2.5CrMoMn
- AWS classification: A5.23 / SFA-5.23, ECG
- Shielding: flux matched to the wire, no shielding gas
Do not exceed the permitted interpass temperature, an overheated heat affected zone loses its toughness. Keep an even flux layer over the arc, too thin a layer exposes the arc and too thick a one spoils the bead shape. Watch the wire stick-out and the position of the head against the weld centre line, under a flux you cannot see the pool and a mistake shows only after the slag is chipped off.
