FOXcore 2209-T0 is a high-alloyed flux-cored wire of the E 2209 type for duplex stainless steel, meant for the flat and horizontal positions and run under a mixed shielding gas.
It is used in the chemical, pulp and paper and marine industries, on parts that carry mechanical and corrosive loads at the same time, and it goes on offshore structures where the joint works in sea water. The slag covers the bead and cools slowly, so the face stays even and the transitions to the parent metal are smooth.

Watch the heat input and the interpass temperature, overheating duplex upsets the ferrite to austenite balance in the weld. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
