What FOXcore 2209-T1 flux-cored wire is used for

FOXcore 2209-T1 is a high-alloyed flux-cored wire of the E 2209 type for duplex stainless steel, suitable for all welding positions and run under a mixed shielding gas.

It joins materials such as 1.4462, 1.4362, 1.4162, UNS S32205 and 2205, and it also serves for cladding carbon steel surfaces. Typical work covers chemical plants, desalination units, tanks and offshore structures in duplex steel.

  • Classification EN ISO: 17633-A T 22 9 3 N L P M21 (C1) 1
  • AWS classification: A5.22 / SFA-5.22 E2209T1-4(1)
  • Shielding gas: M21, C1
  • Diameters: 0.5 / 1.2 / 1.5 mm
  • Approvals: TÜV (07666), BV, CWB, DNV, LR, ABS, CCS, CE

Protect the root and keep the gas coverage complete, oxidised zones in duplex are where pitting corrosion starts. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
