FOXcore 308 H-T0 is a high-alloyed flux-cored wire of the E 308H type for creep resistant austenitic stainless steel, meant for the flat and horizontal positions under a mixed shielding gas.
It joins materials such as 1.4301 and 308L and is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries. The deposit resists intergranular corrosion, has an austenitic structure and holds up against creep at elevated temperature.
- Classification EN ISO: 17633-A T Z 19 9 H R M21 (C1) 3
- AWS classification: A5.22 / SFA-5.22 E308HT0-4(1)
- Shielding gas: M21, C1
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.6 / 2.0 mm
- Approvals: TÜV (11179), CE
After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
