FOXcore 317L-T0 is a high-alloyed austenitic stainless flux-cored wire of the E 317L type for corrosion resistant austenitic steels with a higher Mo content and for claddings on mild steel, meant for the flat and horizontal positions under a mixed shielding gas.
It joins grades such as 1.4429, 1.4434, 1.4435, 1.4438, 1.4439, AISI 316L and 316LN together with their equivalents. The wire goes on offshore structures, where the joint works in a marine environment, and the deposit resists intergranular corrosion.
- Classification EN ISO: 17633-A T Z 19 13 4 N L R M21 (C1) 3
- AWS classification: A5.22 / SFA-5.22 E317LT0-4(1)
- Shielding gas: M21, C1
- Diameters: 1.2 / 1.5 mm
- Approvals: CE
After welding remove the heat tint by pickling or brushing, the oxide layer alone lowers the corrosion resistance of the joint. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture.
