What FOXcore 318-T0 flux-cored wire is used for

FOXcore 318-T0 is a high-alloyed flux-cored wire of the E 318 type for stabilized austenitic stainless steel, meant for the flat and horizontal positions and run under a mixed shielding gas.

Among the parent materials it covers 1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4409, 1.4435, 1.4436, 1.4437 and 1.4571. The deposition rate is high, which shows on long welds and thicker walls, and the wire is used on process plant, heat exchangers, sanitary structures and parts exposed to corrosion.

  • Classification EN ISO: 17633-A T 19 12 3 Nb R M21 (C1) 3
  • Shielding gas: M21, C1
  • Diameters: 1.2 / 2.0 mm
  • Approvals: CE

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Store the wire dry and do not leave an open spool in the feeder overnight, the core takes up moisture. Thinner diameters suit root runs and thin sheet, thicker ones the fill passes.
