What FOXcore 318-T1 flux-cored wire is used for

FOXcore 318-T1 is a high-alloyed, stabilized austenitic stainless flux-cored wire for welding CrNiMo austenitic stainless steels stabilized with titanium or niobium.

It joins grades such as 1.4401, 1.4404, 1.4409, 1.4435, 1.4436, 1.4437 and 1.4571 together with their equivalents. You can weld in all positions, including vertical up and overhead, and the deposition rate shows on long welds and thicker walls.

  • Classification EN ISO: 17633-A T 19 12 3 Nb P M21 (C1) 1
  • Shielding gas: M21, C1
  • Diameters: 1.2 / 2.0 mm
  • Approvals: CE

Keep the interpass temperature low and the beads narrow, overheating austenitic steel promotes carbide precipitation and distortion. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions.
