What FOXcore 347-T1 flux-cored wire is used for

FOXcore 347-T1 is a rutile flux-cored wire for welding stainless and acid-resistant steels. It is used in tank building, process piping and equipment for the chemical and food industries.

Among the parent materials it covers 1.4301, X5CrNi18-10, 1.4306, X2CrNi19-11, 1.4311, 1.4312 and 1.4541. You can weld in all positions, including vertical up and overhead, and the high deposition rate shortens the filling of wider grooves.

Keep the heat input down and do not hold the joint hot longer than needed, austenite expands strongly and pulls the structure out of shape. Do not shorten the stick-out too far, a flux-cored wire needs resistive preheating so the core melts in time. Hold the torch tilted slightly backwards so the slag flows behind the pool, not ahead of it.
