What FOXcore C 9 MVW RC flux-cored wire is used for

FOXcore C 9 MVW RC is a high-alloyed, creep resistant flux-cored wire of the rutile type for tempered 9 % chromium steels.

It is used on grades such as 1.4905 and ASTM A335, on boilers and pressure vessels under technical inspection, and in power generation on superheaters, headers and pressure piping. The deposit stands up to creep at elevated temperature and the slag covers the bead while it cools slowly.

  • Classification EN ISO: 17634-A T ZCrMoW9VNb P M21 1
  • AWS classification: A5.29 / SFA-5.29 E91T1-GM
  • Shielding gas: M21
  • Diameters: 1.2 mm

Do not break off welding and do not let the joint cool below the interpass temperature before the fill is finished. Remove the slag before every following bead, slag left between layers is the most common source of inclusions. Watch the hydrogen level, dry consumables and a preheated groove are the basic protection against cold cracking.
